John Carroll joined the Royal Marines in 91 at the age of 16 .After successfully completing recruit trainning he was posted to 40 commando. Subsequent Drafts include 45 and 42 commandos. He spent his last five years in the Marines serving with the Brigade Patrol Troop as a Recconaisance Leader.
In 2001 he changed career paths and became a Royal Navy Clearance Diver.
He is currently employed as an Instructor at the Defence Diving School at Horsea Island in Portsmouth
Operationally He has served in the Gulf, Northern Ireland , Bosnia , Adriatic and Kosovo.
Other deployments include trips to the Arctic , Jungle and Deserts.
Originally from Accrington in Lancashire , He now lives in Devon with his Wife Lynette and Daughter Lucy.
