Southern Journey : In November 2006 a team will conduct a 2,800 kilometre, 65-day, return ski to the geographical South Pole. This trek is aimed at the more experienced ranks of the Naval service and sets out to achieve the following records:
The first service Expedition to the South Pole since 1912 (Capt Scott).
The first British military return journey to the South Pole in history.
The first Royal Marines to walk unsupported to the South Pole.
Northern Journey : The team will begin the trek at Winter Harbour and finish at the 1996 magnetic North Pole location and if unable to locate a suitable landing strip for a sea ice aircraft landing continue onto Isachsen.
